Caboose – Caboose is a
crowd-pleaser at horse shows and camps, due to his enormous size and
gentle nature. Caboose joined Hoofbeats in 1998 and is a 16.2 hand, 15+
year old, gray percheron/Quarter Horse cross gelding with feet the size
of dinner plates, but with amazing sensitivity to his riders. He is a
favorite of some of Hoofbeats’ adult independent riders, and his
specialties are dressage and musical freestyles.
Licorice –
Licorice came from a hack line in Fayettevville, WV, and has been a
wonderful walk/trot therapy horse since 1998. Licorice is a teenaged,
14.2 hand stocky gray pony of unknown breeding, but he is the horse that
will tolerate any game or adaptive equipment, and will stand still for
the most outrageous decoration for a costume class.
Mouse: A
13-year-old, 17 hand Belgian gelding. He was a carriage driving
competitor in West Virginia for 9 years, used in a unicorn hitch with
two other Belgians.
Ladybug: An
elderly 10 hand Shetland pony mare from Palm Beach, Florida. She too has
a background in driving, and won many championships for her owner, who
is still very much in touch with "the Bug."
Cake: A 14.2 hand
aged pony mare, a veteran Pony Club mount who excelled in dressage.
Ginger: Another
veteran Pony Clubber, also excellent in dressage, she is a 15.1 hand
"older" Morgan mare.
Ben: An aged, 16
hand Suffolk Punch gelding who is a retired field hunter. Ben returns to
Hoofbeats after a season away, much to the delight of his many fans!
