Volunteering at Hoofbeats

Times that Hoofbeats needs volunteers:

Hoofbeats operates on a schedule of weekday and Saturday sessions throughout the spring, summer, and fall months, weather permitting. Special events, such as shows and fundraisers, are scheduled periodically, usually on weekends. Keep an eye on the “Updates” section of this website for our riding schedule and calendar of events.

Requirements/Rules:

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to lead or sidewalk a horse for a therapeutic riding lesson. Children younger than 14 may volunteer to perform other tasks at Hoofbeats under supervision. All volunteers (or their parents/guardians) must complete a Volunteer Registration packet, provide health information, and agree to sign a confidentiality statement. All volunteers must also attend an initial training session and annual refresher courses. All volunteers must conform to the operating standards and procedures set forth in the Hoofbeats Handbook. See “Get Involved” for more information on volunteer opportunities with Hoofbeats.

Please note that Hoofbeats reserves the right to revoke volunteer privileges to anyone who fails to follow the guidelines set forth in the Hoofbeats Handbook, especially if the volunteer’s conduct negatively impacts the clients’, staff’s, other volunteers’, or animals’ safety, privacy, or rights.

To become a Hoofbeats volunteer, please phone us at the Hoofbeats office at:
